Dr. Leach was born the son of a
minister in rural Nebraska and raised in eastern Oklahoma where
Midwest values were deeply instilled and his dreams of becoming a
doctor were nurtured at a very young age.
In
2001, Dr. Leach moved to Moscow and founded the ClearView Eye Clinic
which has grown to become
widely recognized as the premier eye center in the Quad-cities. With
services offered not only in Moscow but also in Lewiston, St. Maries
and Lapwai, his reputation for excellence and compassionate care are
well established.
Dr. Leach excelled at the University of Kentucky
College of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine
(M.D.) degree in 1996,
graduating with honors. He went on to complete a rigorous and highly specialized training in
Ophthalmology & Eye Surgery at the University of Kentucky and
was one of the first resident physicians in the state to perform laser vision correction. He
enjoys his academic responsibilities as Clinical Instructor with the University of Washington Department of Ophthalmology
where he is widely popular among the WWAMI medical students for his
entertaining style of instruction.
Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology
and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Leach
has distinguished himself as a regional leader in both laser vision
correction and cataract/lens implant surgery.
Laser Vision Centers has recognized him as one of the
"Top 100 LASIK Surgeons" in the country!
Besides keeping busy with his own surgical practice, he
also enjoys his role as Chief Surgeon at the TLC Affiliate Refractive Center in Boise.
He is a
widely recognized and respected member of the TLCVision network of
refractive surgeons, known for their surgical innovations and refractive
expertise throughout the country.
Dr. Leach is progressive by
nature. He is the first eye surgeon to
perform LASIK laser vision correction on the Palouse and remains the first and only laser vision surgeon in the quad-cities to offer the benefits of eye-tracking laser technology
and HIGH-Definition LASIK to
all his refractive patients. He also introduced his NO NEEDLE, "Quick-vision" phacoemulsification
technique for cataract removal, relieving his patients of the stress
and discomfort of painful anesthetic NEEDLE injections routinely used by
other cataract surgeons in the region.
Warm, compassionate and widely known for his
exceptional ''bedside manner'', Dr. Leach quickly
sets the minds of his patients and their families at ease. His integrity, steady hands, and superb surgical skill
enable him to provide the highest quality of medical and surgical eye care to his patients
and to the patients referred to him by other eye doctors.
Dr. Leach and his wife, Ann, live in Moscow and
enjoy raising their five
joyful children in the distinctive beauty of northwestern Idaho. His hobbies
range from cooking to fishing, hunting, weight training and being an active member
of the Black Belt team in Shotokan Karate.
