Use Your FLEX Plan for Laser Vision Correction

Many patients choose to use their Flex Plan or employee Medical Reimbursement Plan to pay for theirLASIK or other vision correction procedures. These plans permit patients to choose to have a certain amount of pretax dollars withheld from each paycheck and deposited into a special “flex care spending account.” It allows you to save automatically for LASIK and other qualified heath expenses and, since the money is pre-tax, permits you to save up to 33% off the real cost of the procedure. Typically, you must use up all of the money in your account by year-end to avoid forfeiture.
